About the UAEIMC:
Established September 2025, the UAE Integrative Medicine Council (UAEIMC) enables the safe and regulated integration of traditional and complementary medicine practices that are recognised within approved healthcare frameworks.
The Council was established by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the UAE Cabinet, in September 2025 to ensure effective governance of the integrative medicine ecosystem. It is chaired and led by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon Al Nahyan.
UAEIMC positions Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) as a valuable component of the patient journey alongside conventional medicine. The Council promotes prevention as well as cure, safeguards culture and highlights the importance of scientific research and evidence-informed practice.
Through coordinated national engagement, UAEIMC works to ensure integrative medicine in the UAE is trusted, accessible, and supports prevention and long-term wellbeing. Our Council Members include leadership from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Dubai Health Authority, Sharjah Health Authority, Emirates Drug Establishment, Central Bank of the UAE, the Presidential Court, and the National Projects Office.
